Caring for a woman through her pregnancy and her baby’s birth is an extremely satisfying part of our practice. We encourage you to be an active partner in your pregnancy care by communicating your thoughts and concerns so that together we can develop your individualized birth plan. Our goal is to nurture your confidence in your ability to give birth as well as provide excellent medical care.
We are proud to offer childbirth preparation and care choices. A wide range of options from natural childbirth to the use of anesthesia, depending upon your preferences and labor situation, are offered. We also support vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Cystic fibrosis and Down’s syndrome screening is available. For your convenience, fetal monitoring, state-of-the-art ultrasound services and blood draw services are available in our office.
We coordinate and monitor the care of expectant women. Thibodaux Gyn/Ob provides care through pregnancy, during childbirth and up to six weeks following birth. In addition to birth support, services include family planning and education, nutritional counseling, and free urine-pregnancy testing.
We at Thibodaux Gyn/Ob welcome the opportunity to have a pre-conception visit to ensure that you are aware of actions you can take to optimize your health.
Your initial visit includes an extended review of your health history so that we may identify key points that will optimize your pregnancy. A physical exam and blood tests may be done.
Throughout your pregnancy, routine tests will be performed. To make the process as simple as possible, blood tests, non-stress tests, and biophysical profiles can be performed conveniently in our office. Ultrasound studies are also done on-site or at Thibodaux Regional just a short drive away.
We realize some childbirths are a little more complicated. We care for women with high-risk pregnancies (previous miscarriages, pregnancies accompanied by medical complications, etc). We are also proud to continue to offer vaginal births for patients who have previously had cesarean sections.
When the time comes for your delivery, we believe that the care and facilities at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center are ideal.
